RTS I-4100/4200

The Salford turbo cultivator is a tool that combines the best qualities of traditional cultivators and disc burs, but with its own unique features. It works on plant residues of any size and any density, does not clog, works on waterlogged or frozen soil just as well as on overdried soil, vertically tilling the soil.

Turbocultivator Salford RTS I-4100 - The most aggressive cultivator from the I-series. This machine combines 2 rows of concave cutting discs and 2 rows of wavy discs on one frame. The disc is set at 19.05cm spacing. The front 2 rows of concave discs are spaced 38.1cm apart and the wavy discs on the back rows split that distance for some density. I-4100 heavily seals heavy crop impacts. The additional work of the wavy discs better mixes the soil and residues for faster determination. Preliminary preparation of I-4100 is approximately done in 2 passes at slightly opposite angles.

Turbocultivator Salford RTS I-4200 offers a combination of the residue handling capabilities of the I-4100 with the leveling capabilities of the I-2200 (12.7 cm row spacing models). The front 2 rows of concave blades are spaced 38.1 cm apart, similar to the I-4100. The rear rows carry 50% more wavy discs than the I-4100. The result of this is a row spacing of 12.7 cm overall across the cultivator.

This combination allows for excellent pre-sowing preparation and leveling, greater incorporation of residues, more thorough crushing, effective weed control, and better performance in conditions of large amounts of crop residues or high soil moisture compared to compact disc harrows or disc harrows. The I-4200 is compatible with all Salford attachments: harrows, loosening and sowing stands, including hydraulic ones. The use of this equipment allows several operations to be performed in one pass.

The cultivator should be slightly tilted back with a level difference of 3-4 cm so that the wavy discs penetrate deeper into the soil than the concave ones. Not recommended for seedbed preparation of heavy clay soils.
