"Salford" - new technologies of resource-saving agriculture.

In recent decades, environmentalists have spoken of noticeable climate change, including an increase in average annual temperatures, causing glaciers to melt, and rising sea levels. In addition to warming, there is also an imbalance in all natural systems, which leads to changes in precipitation patterns, temperature anomalies and an increase in the frequency of extreme events such as hurricanes, floods and droughts.

To respond to existing and emerging climate change challenges, concepts and methods for sustainable and efficient intensification of production systems are being developed and implemented. One of these approaches is soil-protective and resource-saving agriculture (CA), which, especially in recent years, has been widely promoted and implemented in the world.

However, few people know that one of the creators of the No-Till and Min-Till technologies, widely used in the system of resource-saving agriculture, is the Russian scientist Ivan Evgenievich Ovsinsky. He published the results of his theoretical and practical research in Kyiv in 1899. Ivan Evgenievich called his work “The New System of Agriculture.” Later, after 1917, Ovsinsky’s associates, who emigrated to Canada, began to actively develop there the production of agricultural machinery for resource-saving technologies. For the first time, they decided to abandon aggressive soil cultivation in North America back in the 30s of the 20th century due to the catastrophic consequences of erosion and dust storms caused by an unprecedented drought. Then, in the 40s, direct sowing was used and described. Since the 70s, the experience of conservation agriculture has spread widely throughout the North American continent; it began to be adapted and applied in various natural and climatic zones. And now, almost a century later, the ideas of E.A. Ovsinsky finally began to be applied in his native land, supported by the research of such Soviet scientists as Baraev, Maltsev and others.

In July 2011, the Salford plant opened in Omsk for the production of pneumatic seeders and tillage implements for No-Till and Min-till technologies. The production is equipped with modern welding and painting equipment and has a full cycle - from cutting steel to assembling finished products.
